Conventions at Porte Maillot: where to stay?

The Palais des Congrès was inaugurated on February 28, 1974, and hosts a large number of cultural events, congresses and trade shows every year. While it's often easy to book a show or register for a convention, booking a hotel can sometimes be far more complicated.

2 hotels share the majority of the market
For conventions taking place at Porte maillot, it's highly likely that a delegate will decide to stay
in one of the 2 hotels in the immediate vicinity of the convention center: the Hyatt Regency and the Meridien Etoile.

It's true that there are 2 freshly renovated behemoths sharing the
porte maillot hotel market. If we take as a basis a national convention held in November 2019 (CFU), the
reservations at these 2 hotels represent 75% of total bookings.

Hyatt Regency Paris étoile****

It's an iconic hotel with spectacular views over Paris that boasts no fewer than 950 rooms and 34 floors. A major renovation project recently took place between 2017 and 2019. It has direct access to the Palais des Congrès, giving delegates access to the congress, the Palais shopping mall, the cinema, the restaurants and the metro station, all without leaving the building. The hotel also boasts 11 meeting rooms with capacities ranging from 2 to 2,800 people, for all types of meetings and events.

Star meridian****

The hotel is located directly opposite the Palais des Congrès de Paris. It is quite simply the largest hotel in Paris, with over 1000 rooms (1025 in total, including suites). All have been renovated after 7 years of work, which was completed last year. Le Méridien has developed a partnership with the Palais de Tokyo. When booking a room at the hotel, guests receive free admission to the museum. The perfect way to combine work and culture!

There are many other hotels in the area to consider.

Numerous other hotels in the vicinity remain to be considered
2 hotels, have a capacity of over 100 rooms and are within walking distance:

AC Hotel Paris Porte Maillot****

The hotel is just a 7-minute walk from the Palais des Congrès (600m), on the opposite side of the ring road, making it easy for conference delegates to get to. It has 164 rooms. Those on the ring road have quadruple-glazed windows to ensure a perfect night's sleep. While it can't compete with the previous 2 hotels in terms of capacity, its recent, streamlined rooms (the hotel was built in 2014) attract many small convention groups.

Crowne Plaza paris neuilly (ex Movenpick Paris Neuilly)****

The former Movenpick came under the management of the IHG group, becoming the Crowne Plaza in March 2017. It can be reached on foot in 18 minutes (1.3km), or by direct bus.

The hotel has 281 rooms and suites, some of which are on the 7th floor, with panoramic views of the Eiffel Tower and Sacré Coeur. The 20 adaptable lounges, most with natural daylight, can accommodate up to 400 people.
It is an excellent alternative for larger groups, or if nearby hotels start to sell out.

Other small 4* hotels, also within walking distance

There are also many other small hotels within walking distance of the Palais des Congrès, used to
receiving delegates, with whom we work regularly and with whom we negotiate
congress rates including breakfast. Here's a small selection of partner hotels:
- La Villa Maillot (5min walk)
- L'Etoile Saint-Ferdinand (6min walk)
- Les Jardins de la Villa (6min walk)
- La Villa des Ternes (6min walk)
- Le Balmoral (14min walk)...

And for every budget, 3* and 2* hotels are always within walking distance
:
- Le Fertel Maillot*** (3min walk)
- La Résidence Impériale*** (4min walk)
- La Villa brunel*** (6min walk)
- Le Fertel Etoile*** (8min walk) walk)
- Le Marmotel** (8min walk)
- Le Neuilly Park*** (11min walk)
- Le BW Star champs élysées*** (13min walk)
- Le Magellan*** (14min walk, renovated in 2019)

Porte Maillot: yes, but what else?

Other areas attract large numbers of delegates, whether by choice or by default (hotels in the immediate vicinity of the convention center are frequently fully booked during international conventions).

La Défense

It is Europe's leading business district in terms of office space. It boasts over 3,700 rooms in 3, 4 and 5* hotels. The district is easily accessible from Porte Maillot by direct metro line 1 (3 stops only). We work with a large number of hotels, including Accor, Mélia la Défense, Renaissance la Défense and Hilton Paris la Défense.

Arc de Triomphe/Champs Elysées district

It can be reached by direct bus or metro, but also on foot in 15-25 minutes. Hotels such as the Warwick Champs Elysées, the Mercure Arc de Triomphe, the Marianne, the Cécilia, the Tivoli and the Tilsitt regularly welcome business tourists who choose to stay away from the Porte maillot. They can take advantage of their free time to discover this livelier district.

Montmartre

It's a district of authentic charm, famous for the Sacré-Coeur basilica and its magnificent view over Paris. This is the place to be for delegates who want to feel the "real Paris", away from the hustle and bustle of the convention. It can be reached in 25 minutes by metro (1 change). The area boasts chain hotels such as the Mercure Paris Montmartre sacré cœur**** and the Ibis Paris Montmartre 18 ème ***, as well as numerous small independent hotels.
